We have always tried to make sure that all activities and tasks, we are involved in, do not harm the society or environment in any way. This is one reason why we have managed to succeed at what we do for over the past two decades. We follow all safe manufacturing practices to ensure that nature or people do not have to bear any risks.
Dhamma Kalyana International Meditation Centre, Kanpur
Another thing that HL Agro is proud to have done as a part of its corporate social responsibility is that it has set up a Meditation centre called Dhamma Kalyana in Uttar Pradesh. This centre is located amidst long stretches of fertile agricultural fields about 22 kilometers away from Kanpur city. At this centre, Vipassana meditation is taught as per the instructions of the late Vipassana Charya S.N. Goenka.
‘Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India’s most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art Of Living. Situated on the bank of the river Ganga/GangesDhamma Kalyana can accommodate about 100 students in single room occupancy and organizes residential courses all through the year. This centre is proof of the dedication of, the group’s co-founder, Mr. Ashok Sahu towards the people in the society. All courses taught at this centre are taught on a no-fee basis and students are required to pay no charges, even for food and accommodation. Green Credentials of HL Agro
- Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) & Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)
Minimising environmental pollution is high on the implementation agenda of our industrial operations. We operate effluent treatment plants to reduce the potential for pollution of receiving waters and to comply with discharge consent conditions.
A well-designed (ZLD) Zero Liquid Discharge system is used to purify & recycle the plant wastewater, while also producing a clean stream suitable for reuse elsewhere in the plant processes. With a zero level liquid wastage at the end of manufacturing processes, we are able to regulate our fresh water needs & contribute to the preservation of water resources.
- Rainwater Harvesting
We significantly reduce our environmental footprints by enabling the rainwater harvesting systems to collect, conserve and re-use the water that falls onto the roofs or hard stand areas of the facility premises. The systems further help us to top up source water in water recycling systems.
- Waste Management
We reduce the emission of waste by boosting yield in our production process and increasing the recycling rate of our waste materials. At HL Agro, we enforce advanced waste management & water treatment facilities to minimize our overall environmental impact. Rejected materials are sold in the market in the form of hay or fodder & other non- recyclable industrial wastages are handed over to the regulatory bodies for their better management.
- Green Zone
AT HL Agro, our approach towards the environment is to make it fully integrated part of our business. We promote our green credentials by engaging eco friendly manufacturing practices & conserving a substantial green buffer zone area in the premises of both the units. These green belts keeps us closer to the nature & leverages our environmental performance.
