Maltodextrin is a white or yellowish powder derived from the hydrolysis of starches such as corn. It is a fast-digesting carbohydrate that provides quick energy and has a variety of uses. It is slightly sweet and has no odour. Maltodextrin is commonly used as a thickener, filler or preservative in processed foods, sports drinks and infant formulas.
