Sorbitol IP is a high-purity grade used in pharmaceuticals and medical applications, including syrups and oral rehydration solutions. It is a naturally occurring polyhydric alcohol with half the sweetness of sucrose. Due to its stability and non-cariogenic nature, it is widely used in diabetic-friendly formulations and as a laxative in medicinal syrups. Its moisture-retaining properties also make it valuable in cosmetics and personal care products.
